You will need to create a schedule and you must stick to it even if your pet ignores its food. If you would be able to do this, you can estimate its potty time therefore all you need to do is to accompany your pet outside while it does its thing.
It is important that you are with it outside to make sure that it truly pees there. Handling out of dog treats should also be monitored. And it should not be equal to one full meal otherwise your pooch might lose its appetite. Another part of basic dog obedience training is with regard to behavior problems. If you find it troublesome that your pooch jumps on sofa, chew your furniture and your shoes, and barks annoyingly you have to do something. It should never be tolerated because your pet might think that what it does is all right with you.

You should never reach that stage because it may become aloof and even be traumatized. Teaching dog tricks such as playing catch, jumping on hoops, or fetching things is another fun way of doing this training. Although this is considered optional, still it would be nice if you can add some talent to your pooch.
